I specialize in corporate print projects including annual reports and marketing collateral, helping you to bring your stories to life for all to read and enjoy. Annual reports come in all sorts of packaging, including traditional and online.

I practice strategic web design, which means that I make websites for clients to enable them to use the Internet to grow their business.

There are many technicians out there who can construct websites. I take a more strategic approach that includes your business and marketing goals.

The goal of any website redesign project is to create a site that functions effortlessly for your customers and clients. Strategic web design is a partnership between designer and client, working together from the discovery phase to website launch in a step-by-step process.

What is your process?

We will talk about your goals and what you want to accomplish with your website (e.g. What do you want visitors to do when they come to your site?) and develop a plan that includes solutions. We would develop a work plan that includes a step-by-step process and deadline dates to keep the project moving forward on time and on budget. The process includes on-going interactive testing because the last thing you want is to launch the site and then determine that something isn’t working the way that it should.

What does a website cost?

The cost depends upon what you want your website to do, how you want it to function, the features you want it to have and the number of pages. I can provide you with a detailed estimate based on a 30-minute consultation call. Work can begin upon signing an agreement and receipt of a deposit.

How long will it take to do the web site?

The time needed depends upon the complexity of the site. Simple sites with a few pages can be live in less than a month. Larger sites, as you would imagine, take longer. If the client is providing the content (e.g. images and text), then the time needed can depend upon the client providing the content on a timely basis.

I need help managing the site. Can you help with that?

Absolutely. I do provide website maintenance services. I do make websites using an open source content management system (CMS) that enables non-techie people to make many of their own website updates (e.g. updating photos and text). You may discover that you take to the process easily (many do!) and want to do your own updates.

Print projects include a variety of paper-based projects that are printed either by a professional printer, or printed in-house by the client use a high-quality printer.

Print projects include (but are not limited to):

  • Annual reports
  • Brochures
  • Direct mail

  • Press kits
  • Program books
  • Publications (e.g. magazines)
  • Stationery suite (letterhead, business cards)

One of my favorite projects is annual reports because it’s the chance to look back at accomplishments and write compelling client stories, which can be used over and over again. For example, you can reformat content and use for social media posts, blog posts and marketing materials (e.g. brochures, sales sheets). It’s a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too.

 Services for print projects can include:

  • Graphic design services (or, what I call creative work with a purpose) and includes creating a look and feel for the document
  • Copywriting, including information gathering and interviewing
  • Copyediting
  • Photography coordination, including working with a professional photographer and/or selection of stock images

Once the print project is completed, a professional printer usually prints it. I do provide electronic files for clients that they can then share with printers. If needed, I act as a liaison between the client and printer as well as manage the project through the printing process.
